From the glow of spinning rides, to pulsing music, to the smell of fried food and axle grease, to neon synthetic fur of stuffed prizes, the Tulsa State Fair brings with its yearly dose of sensory overload. It's about spectacle and excess. Foods that would never be on the same table are put on a stick and fried together and wrapped in bacon. Nausea inducing rides launch thrill-seekers skyward in contraptions that seem born from science fiction novels of the 1960's. Its busy, its loud and it's fantastic to photograph.
