It is always nice when an assignment evolves beyond what is on the surface. Recently, Ink Magazine asked me to photograph a man named Prentiss Earl, III, and the amazing work he is doing in his Kansas City neighborhood, Legacy East. The assignment was a portrait but I loved making photographs of the kids hanging out in the neighborhood during their weekly family fun night.
